She has been a retailer, a software provider, and a consultant before becoming an analyst. Nikki has an M.B.A. from the University of Texas, Austin, focusing on operations and IT. Brian is a recognized leader in retail technology practices. One of the top retail CIO’s in the United States during his ten-year tenure at a leading West Coast retailer, Kilcourse was named one of the Premier 100 IT Leaders by Computerworld magazine and by Information Week as leader of the #1 retail IT shop in 2001. Brian is a frequent public speaker on subjects ranging from emerging technologies to IT governance and best practices. He also has led training seminars on the subject of selling technology value to retailers” Brian has authored research on Multi-Channel Retailing, Retail Data Security, RFID, Business Intelligence, Services Oriented Architectures (SOA), and Software as a Service (SaaS) among other topics.

Paula is widely recognized as one of the top analysts in the retail industry. She formerly served as Vice President of Research & Content at Retail Systems Alert Group (RSAG), and as Vice President of Aberdeen Group’s Retail Research practice. She was also retail research director for AMR Research. Previous to that, Paula spent over 20 years as a retail technology executive and CIO. She works with Wall Street analysts and industry trade associations on a regular basis. Paula received her MBA in 1991 from Northeastern University, with a major in management of High Technology firms.

Steve is RSR’s emerging markets specialist. In addition to having been a pioneering analyst in the field of customer data security, Rowen’s additional areas of coverage include environmental sustainability within retail, cross-channel and eCommerce applications, as well as merchandising and workforce management technologies. Prior to his work as an analyst, Steve served as senior editor for multiple retail publications. He has a bachelor’s degree in American history from the University of Maine, and an extensive retail practitioner background.
